When you aren't able to come work alongside us in NYC, bring the Urban Immersion experience to your hometown!

Designed for small groups (ages 12 and up), Metro's virtual Urban Immersion curriculum takes a look into six aspects of our ministry in New York City: Homelessness, Food Justice, Youth & Education, Gentrification, Interfaith Work, and Arts & Theater. Each of the six sessions includes a video introduction by one of our local ministers and practitioners, group activities, a community connection, Bible study, questions for reflection and conversation, and a final challenge for engaging this work in your own city.

To purchase the Urban Immersion curriculum for use with your group, please email

Cost: $100 (all 6 sessions + intro session)

Add on a live conversation with one of our practitioners: $150 (via Zoom)

"Our experience with the Virtual Immersion was wonderful! We loved learning about all of the creative and sustaining ministries they have going on. We also appreciated seeing how they partnered with their community to reach so many people who may never come to “church” inside the sanctuary, but are experiencing church in so many beautiful ways. We especially enjoyed our live chat with Pastor Tiffany Triplett Henkel! She was able to provide insight on how to begin similar ministries in our local context. I would absolutely recommend the entire series for any church!" - Rev. Sharon Felton of Faith Baptist Church, Georgetown, KY

With rising vaccination rates, we are hopeful to begin welcoming our first Urban Immersion groups back before the end of 2021. Due to NY State’s travel restrictions, we will not be hosting groups from restricted states. You can find an updated list of those states here:

While it is challenging to know when our Urban Immersion program will be back running at full capacity, we are still accepting bookings. We are able to book groups up to two years ahead of time, so feel free to reach out now to book your future experience with us. For a connection to NYC without the travel, check out our new virtual Urban Immersion curriculum available for purchase (above).

The Urban Immersion program is designed to offer groups a chance to learn, listen, and serve alongside one another in the heart of the quintessential urban environment, New York City. The goal is not only to offer volunteer opportunities, but also to challenge participants to ask difficult questions and explore together how our faith fits into this experience.
